Things To Do
The grounds of Hiawassee River Retreat are beautiful and tree-lined with grassy meadows throughout. The entire property is reserved for the weekend of Friday, May 3rd through Sunday, May 5th.
All wedding guests are welcome to join us on the grounds the day of the wedding. If you arrive early, enjoy the property!
On site are fire pits and swings.
Fishing in the river is encouraged. It's stocked with trout. (Catch and release only.)
Other nearby activities include: tubing, hiking, high ropes courses, and the town of Helen.

Brasstown Bald Visitors Center

The highest mountain in Georgia. You can drive to the top or enjoy a hike. There are many other hiking opportunities in the area as well.
Chatuge Lake
A human-created reservoir/lake that weaves through the area. A number of water-related activities (including boat rentals) can be enjoyed here.
