Wedding Party

Meet the friends and family standing next to us as we say "I do"!

Sally Moedritzer

Matron of Honor

Fellow lover of 90s country and the Missouri Tigers, Sal has been Kirsten's #1 gal since moving to D.C. They have celebrated many milestones together including new jobs, homes, and engagements. They also shared one very traumatic election night, after which they woke up with very bad hangovers and the cutouts of many former presidents on sticks. They will never again to go a bottomless champagne party.

Danny Tinnin

Best Man

Danny is Lucas' oldest friend, they have known each other since 7th grade. He currently lives on the eastern shore of Maryland and can most often be found on his boat with a drink or a fishing rod (or both!) in his hand. Danny is solely responsible for keeping Lucas sane when he lived with his parents in Annapolis right after graduating college where they spent too many nights at Union Jacks.

Maren Idso

Maid of Honor

Best friends since the "awkward years", Kirsten and Maren were attached at the hip in middle school and have shared a million memories since. Highlights include surviving a 12-mile Tough Mudder race, winning a national championship in softball, creating dance routines to every Keith Urban song, and painting Kirsten's bedroom a very subtle hot pink and black design (sorry, mom).

Sam Hartman

Groomsman

Sam is Kirsten's "little" brother. A college football coach in Cheney, Washington, Sam somehow scored both the brains and the athletic genes in the Hartman family and Kirsten is still jealous.

Ashley Hurst

Bridesmaid

Ashley is Lucas’ oldest sister and mom to ring bearer Ford and flower girl Brooke. Ashley is an Event Planner, a career that has blossomed from the days of planning West Fest, an annual secret party at Ford and Cathy’s when they were away. She and Lucas share a love of the West Virginia Mountaineers, Harry Potter, and the board game "Sorry!". Ashley has always been there for Lucas and given him guidance when he needed it—luckily that included suggesting he take Kirsten on a date when he asked her for advice!

Davey Marrin

Groomsman

Lucas and Davey met in DC and instantly bonded over the Redskins, watching college football at Mason Inn (RIP) and sharing a canoe on what has become an infamous, annual camping trip. An Ole Miss grad, Davey's favorite hobbies are going out on his boat, trying to catch fish, and bragging about how good he was at lacrosse in high school. He is one of the few people in the wedding who has not worked on Capitol Hill, so do not bother asking him who he works for.

Lindsey Lutz

Bridesmaid

Lucas’ older sister Lindsey is the mom to flower girl Elyse and ring bearer Owen. She’s a women’s college lacrosse coach, and since she’s constantly with girls aged 18-22, there’s never a dull moment with Lindsey because she can burst into an ice breaker or team building game at a moment's notice. She also has an uncanny knowledge of Top 40 pop songs or whatever the kids listen to these days--and when we're lucky, the dance moves to accompany them. Lucas has Lindsey to thank for helping him decide to go to Hampden-Sydney College. And Lindsey can thank Lucas for ensuring her baby daughter Elyse was up to date on her tetanus shots after once visiting him at school and bringing her into the Sigma Chi House where Lucas lived.

Devin Mogler

Groomsman

One of both Kirsten and Lucas' closest friends, Devin is a consistent (and welcome!) third wheel to many events. Devin once even third-wheeled his way all the way to Europe for a week-long vacation with Kirsten and Lucas (to be fair, Kirsten and Lucas were "just friends" when the trip was planned). As an ethanol lobbyist, if you want to start a conversation with Devin just mention any of the following: corn, gas, oil, tariffs, ethanol, or the number 15.

Sarah Chivers

Bridesmaid

First Alpha Delta Pi sisters and then roommates, Kirsten and Sarah survived sorority madness, bad college hair, journalism school, and one very wild Mom's Weekend together (shout-out to Lori, Liz, and Pipes!).

Brian Simonsen

Groomsman

Brian's bucket list included renting an RV and going to a NASCAR race--a trip that ended up starting Lucas and Kirsten's relationship. He never forgets to take credit for being the reason they're together. Brian also shares Lucas' love for exceedingly disappointing sports teams, so he's a good friend to have around during football and baseball season to commiserate.

Leigh Claffey

Bridesmaid

Kirsten and Leigh became fast friends in DC, bonding over a shared love of wine nights, college football, and Rent the Runway. The two recently hiked Machu Picchu mountain together in Peru, and while they swear they will never, ever climb that many ancient Incan steps again, they are happy to go back and pet more llamas anytime.

Drake Hudgins

Groomsman

As the only groomsmen who was in the same fraternity as Lucas, Drake is the person to chat with to get all of the good stories. Since graduation, Drake and Lucas have attended countless Redskins games together where they for some reason always sang "I love it" by Icona pop in the Redskins parking lot - Section D 40, of course. Drake recently graduated law school and is working at a firm in Alexandria.
