Kirsten and Lucas have been friends since Lucas first moved to Washington, DC. He worked in Missouri politics and Kirsten went to Mizzou, so they had many mutual friends and often were at the same party or happy hour. Kirsten even tried to set Lucas up with two of her friends--thank goodness she didn't make a very good matchmaker! Years after meeting, two of their mutual friends, Devin and Brian (both groomsmen!), thought it would be fun to get a big group together, rent two RVs, and spend a weekend at a NASCAR race. Under the influence of many, many cheap beers, Kirsten, wearing bad jean shorts and a big cast to heal a broken foot, and Lucas, wearing a weird fishing hat, kissed behind a trailer after a competitive game of beer pong. The romantic and very classy start to their relationship led to a lot more tailgating, travel, and fun in the years that followed!
