The Vintage House Hotel, Douro

Our wedding will be held at The Vintage House, where we have the full hotel reserved for our guests from Friday-Sunday (2 nights). However, there are limited number of rooms available, so unfortunately not everyone can stay here - but we have a number of great nearby options below! Quinta de La Rosa

Quinta Da La Rosa is a beautiful quinta (a Portuguese country estate) situated only a 20 minute walk (or 5 minute drive) from our wedding venue. It features their own house wines, beers, and tasting experiences, as well! Transportation to and from this property will be offered for the Welcome BBQ and Wedding Night. We do not have a discount code available for this stay, so guests are welcome to book directly through their website.

Hotel Douro

Hotel Douro is a budget-friendly boutique hotel offering a convenient stay just steps from our venue and the Pinhão train station. It’s an ideal choice for guests looking for a seamless and centrally located stay in the Douro Valley. Given its close proximity, transportation to the welcome BBQ will be provided directly from The Vintage House, located less than a five-minute walk away. We do not have a discount code available for this stay, so guests are welcome to book directly through their website via their reservation form or by phone.

Flight

OPO Airport (Porto)

OPO Airport will be the closest airport to our venue and will bring you to the beautiful city of Porto (which we recommend everyone should visit on their trip to Portugal - it is where we got engaged!). You can then reach our venue via train (this is our recommendation and information on the specific train can be found below). If renting a car, there are all the major companies available at OPO, and the drive to our venue take 1.5 hours. There are also many private car services which can also take you to our venue.

Comboios De Portugal

From Porto: From Porto's famous São Bento station in the heart of the city, you can catch a 2 hour 20 minute direct train to the Pinhão station for about €13.00, which drops you off steps away from our venue. The train ride is beautiful and a must do activity in itself! If you are coming from the Porto airport (OPO) first, to get to the São Bento station, you can either take an uber, taxi, or metro. If taking the metro, there isn’t a direct line between the airport and São Bento Station - this option requires a transfer at Trindade Station. All up, the journey should take about 30 minutes. To use the metro, you’ll need to ride the Purple Line (Line E) toward Estádio do Dragão for 27 minutes to Trindade Station, where you can transfer to the Orange Line (Line D) toward Santo Ovídio for another two stops. *If you don’t mind walking a bit further, you can stay on board the Purple Line until you reach Bolhão Station. From there, it is a 700-meter walk.

Traveling by car

If traveling to The Vintage House by car from Porto, you can rent a car, get a private car service or Uber/Bolt/taxi. Ubers and Bolts (the local ride share app) are very plentiful from the city center or airport and will probably be the cheapest and most efficient mode of driving - the ride will take about 1.5 hours. Taxis can be flagged down or picked up at one of the many taxi stands at the airport or in the city center.
