Douro Valley — The Heart of Wine and Scenic Views

Visit a Local Quinta (Traditional Wine Estate) Tour any of the countless wineries and taste some of Portugal’s famous port wines. Schedule a wine tasting tour or find one on your own - there are numerous tours that can be booked on GetYoutGuide, Viator, AirBnB, etc. Nearby quintas include Quinta do Bomfim and Quinta das Carvalhas, but go deeper into the Douro and check out our favorites: Quinta Seara D'ordens (family run), Casa Santa Eufemia (best local port) and Quinta da Pacheca (most renowned). Take a Douro River Cruise from Pinhão One of the best ways to experience the valley is from the river itself. Take a traditional rabelo boat cruise departing from Pinhão, and admire the terraced vineyards and stunning landscapes from the water. Options range from one-hour tours to longer sunset experiences. Tickets can be purchased directly at the docks in Pinhão (located directly in front of the Vintage House) or online through providers such as Pipadouro, Douro Azul and Magnífico Douro.

Cross the Dom Luís I Bridge Walk across the iconic bridge and enjoy sweeping views of the Douro River and Porto’s colorful rooftops. Try Local Cuisine at Mercado do Bolhão Visit Porto’s historic market, a lively market bursting with fresh produce, local delicacies, and authentic flavors.
