We said yes! Join us in the countdown until we say "I do." We are so excited to celebrate with all the people we love most in our life!
Our story is a testament to the serendipity of love, a story of how a whirlwind romance between two busy professionals at different lifestages -and from different backgrounds - can blossom into a lifetime of laughter and shared values. We met online in early 2022, both turning to Coffee Meets Bagel amid our busy lives—Eli, a young physician, and KimChi, a pre-nursing student. From our very first video call, KimChi was impressed by Eli's warm smile and thoughtful nature, while Eli was taken by KimChi's humor, strength, and intelligence. We connected over our shared passion for the medical field, our international experiences, and similar life values. As we navigate our demanding careers, our love story continues to grow. Successfully blending our diverse backgrounds into a cohesive home, we both knew that this relationship was profound enough for us to decide to spend our lives together. Despite only knowing each other for a few years, we have already shared so much laughter and heartfelt conversations and we can’t wait to share life’s experiences and adventures – together - for the rest of our lives!
Although Eli and KimChi had discussed getting engaged - and even the ring she liked - KimChi always envisioned a surprise proposal in some beautiful, romantic setting. However, reality had its own plan instead. In December 2022, two events happened simultaneously: KimChi received the exciting news of her acceptance into nursing school, and, at the same time, she contracted COVID-19 and needed to quarantine at home for almost two weeks. Seeing this moment as a testament to their commitment, Eli decided to propose. He popped the ring and said, "This moment proves that I want to be with you through thick and thin, in sickness and in health. Will you marry me?" Without hesitation, KimChi said “Yes!” There were no tears or witnesses, but we both knew it was a special, romantic moment in our lives.
