Question

Where is Oakbrook Farm and will the ceremony and reception take place at the same location?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will take place at one location; Oakbrook Farm, 449 Dover Drive, Ridgeway, SC 29130. Ridgeway is approximately 25-30 miles slightly north (up Interstate 77) of downtown Columbia. Travel time from downtown Columbia is approximately 30 minutes; from Blythewood approximately 10 minutes; from Lexington approximately 45 minutes.

Question

Will transportation be provided to and from Oakbrook Farm?

Answer

We will provide a shuttle leaving the Hyatt Place parking lot (808 Lady St. Columbia, SC) at 3:00 pm sharp. If you are staying at Hyatt Place, parking is $14.00 per night. There may be on street parking near Hyatt Place (although it may be limited since it’s a game day). There is garage parking 1 block away from the Hyatt Place (Lincoln Street Parking Deck - 820 Washington St. Columbia, SC). The shuttle will make two return trips back to Hyatt Place: Once at 8:00 pm (for those who would like to leave early) and a second at 10:00 pm when the reception ends.

Question

What about an Uber?

Answer

Ubers are readily available from Columbia to Ridgeway (again, Gameday prices may be higher). However, return Ubers back to Columbia from Ridgeway may be challenging.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes, there is ample parking at the venue. We will have valet parking available since it is a bit of a walk from the parking lot. We will also have golf carts shuttling from the valet parking stand to the ceremony site for anyone who may prefer not to walk (more on the location of the ceremony site below).

Question

Is the wedding indoor or outdoor?

Answer

The ceremony is all outdoor on a sloped wooded area. The ground covering is mulch. Please wear appropriate shoes. Ladies, we recommend flats or block heels, not stilettos. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved to a tented outdoor area on grass but the aforementioned shoe recommendation still holds true. The cocktail area will be a short walk from the wooded ceremony area to a concrete outdoor patio. Golf carts will be available to assist those who do not wish to walk. Dinner and dancing will be under a covered outdoor pavilion that will protect everyone from possible rain.

Question

What is the dress code for this event?

Answer

The dress code is cocktail formal. Gentlemen, feel free to leave the black tux at home and wear a suit, or jacket and tie. Ladies, feel free to wear a gown, cocktail dress or dressy pantsuit. The ceremony will be outside, please wear appropriate shoes, i.e. ladies consider wearing block heels , flats or wedges, not stilettos.

Question

What is the weather typically like in November in SC?

Answer

In November 2021, the average temperature was 55 degrees Fahrenheit. The temperature in 2021 for November ranged from an average low of 45 degrees and an average high of 69 degrees. There will be heaters located throughout our venue in case it gets chilly. Please bring a jacket!

Question

Can I bring my baby/children to the wedding?

Answer

Although we would love to see everyone’s children we hope you understand that due to limited numbers, we are only able to accommodate children in the wedding party and immediate family at our wedding and reception. We hope you will enjoy a child free night of relaxation and uninhibited revelry.

Question

Can I use my cell phone during ceremony?

Answer

We would prefer that you keep your cellphones silenced and away during the ceremony. We have a photographer that will be taking lots of pictures for us so do not feel pressured to brush up on your photography and/or videography skills for us.

Question

What if my cellphone rings during ceremony?

Answer

Shame. Shame on you.
