Aeropuerto Internacional de Tulum Felipe Carrillo Puerto

Tulum has two airports near it with this one being the closest. Note this airport recently opened and more flight options may be available closer to our wedding date. This airport is also a 40 min drive from the main city center of Tulum. We recommend renting a car from Hertz and making the reservation ahead of time. Note that you will need to allot 2-3 hours to retrieve your rental as they get pretty busy so we highly recommend not making any plans right after your flight lands if you are renting a car. /// Tulum tiene dos aeropuertos, siendo este el más cercano. Tengan en cuenta que este aeropuerto abrió recientemente y es posible que haya más opciones de vuelos cerca de la fecha de nuestra boda. Este aeropuerto está a 30 minutos en coche hacia centro de la ciudad de Tulum. Recomendamos rentar un coche con Hertz y hacer la reservarción con anticipación. Tengan en cuenta que necesitarán entre 2 y 3 horas para recoger su coche, ya que suelen estar bastante ocupados, por lo que les recomendamos no hacer planes justo después de aterrizar si van a rentar un coche.

This airport is the second closest to Tulum with a wider range of flight options. To get from this airport to Tulum it can take from 1 hr and 30 min drive up to 2 hr and 20 min drive depending on traffic. /// Este aeropuerto es el segundo más cercano a Tulum y ofrece una mayor variedad de vuelos. Para llegar de este aeropuerto a Tulum, el tiempo de viaje en coche puede variar entre 1 hora y 30 minutos hasta 2 horas y 20 minutos, dependiendo de el tráfico.

Areas to Explore/Stay: La Veleta, Tulum

La Veleta, just outside of Tulum Pueblo (downtown), offers a relaxed atmosphere, blending lively dining spots and bars. When we visited we stayed at an Airbnb in this area and highly recommend if you are not staying along the beach. Many of its roads remain unpaved but Calle 7 is an exception. This street serves as the hub of La Veleta, featuring popular bars, restaurants, and a number of boutique clothing stores. /// Ubicado en las afueras del centro de Tulum, La Veleta ofrece una atmósfera relajada y animados lugares para comer y conocer. Cuando nosotros visitamos, nos hospedamos en un Airbnb en esta área y lo recomendamos ampliamente, si decides no quedarte cerca de la playa. Muchas de sus calles aún no están pavimentadas pero Calle 7 es una excepción. Esta calle es el centro de La Veleta, con bares populares, restaurantes y un número de tiendas de ropa.

Areas to Explore/Stay: Zona Hotelera, Tulum

This area is a long strip of road that has the majority of hotels, restaurants, and beach clubs. We didn't stay here but did spend a lot of time here trying different restaurants and experiencing the night life. We will warn you though it does get very busy so a car in this area is not recommended because its just one street and tends to get a lot of traffic. The parking situation is also a struggle and you have to pay at most places. /// Esta área es una larga carretera que tiene la mayoría de hoteles, restaurantes y clubs de playa. No nos hospedamos allí, pero pasamos mucho tiempo explorando diferentes restaurantes y disfrutando de la vida nocturna. Sin embargo, les advertimos que se pone muy ocupado y congestionado, así que no se recomienda usar coche en esta zona porque es una sola calle y suele haber mucho tráfico. La situación del estacionamiento también es complicada y en la mayoría de los lugares tienen que pagar.
