Travel Note
Due to apple pickers at Apple Hill, white water rafters on the American River & other weddings, rooms are VERY hard to get in October in Placerville. Many places are already sold out so book ASAP!
Travel Note
All of the motels close to the wedding location -The Smith Flat House- are very run down and not in a great part of town. I would avoid those unless you want to "rough it" or don't mind a crumby room in a rundown area of town.
House Or Rental
*THIS IS YOUR BEST OPTION FOR STAYING IN PLACERVILLE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO STAY 20 MILES DOWN THE HILL* There are still several house rentals on AirBnb.com! Search Placerville, then go to "room type" and select "entire home." I use this site all the time!
Hotel
ROOM BLOCK WITH CODE KGW OR CALL & SAY FARR/GOMEZ-ORTIGOZA WEDDING. This hotel is about 20 miles down hwy 50 in El Dorado Hills, in a nice shopping center with food, stores & an outdoor walkway with water. This is more of a normal civilization option, where Placerville is more of a mountain town type scene.

Hotel
This B&B is walking distance to town & still has availability for our wedding weekend!
Hotel
This hotel is only about two exits from downtown Placerville, and about 4 exits/6 miles from the wedding. They still have some availability but book fast! Nothing fancy but close to Main Street. I couldn't do a room block at this hotel.
Hotel
This hotel is about 9.5 miles up hwy 50 (towards Tahoe) from the wedding location. It is in the pine tree mountain town of Pollock Pines. This is a pretty area & an easy drive to the venue.
Hotel
This B&B is just a few houses down from our own! Walking distance to Main Street. Most of the rooms are private cottages. Warning, it's a little cheesy & outdated, but the location is good. Don't stay in the downstairs apartment if you're allergic to cats!
Hotel
This hotel fills up FAST in October. It's right on Main Street but is only available on days before or after the wedding, not Saturday night (last I checked). Only one small/old elevator in the back. "Haunted." REALLY good location for bar/restaurant/shopping access so check back to see if they've had cancellations.
Hotel
This is our favorite "inn," the property is amazing! As of right now it's full, but if you're coming to town early or staying past the weekend we highly recommend spending a night here! It's a sort of inn/b&b hybrid that has been newly upgraded, with private patios, soaking tubs, gardens, etc.
