Travel Note
Recommended Step-by-Step Route At DIA: Head to the DEN Transit Center (inside the airport, easy to find with signs). Take the A Line train to Denver Union Station. Frequency: Every 15–30 minutes. Travel time: ~37 minutes. Fare: $10 (Airport fare zone; day pass is also $10 and covers the whole trip). At Union Station: Transfer to the W Line (West Line) light rail toward Jefferson County Government Center–Golden Station. Travel time: ~35–45 minutes. This line goes directly toward Golden. Getting to the Hotel from the W Line: Best stop for downtown Golden: Get off at Oak Station and transfer to the Route 17 bus (toward Golden), or walk/ride-share from there. Some W trains go all the way to Jefferson County Government Center–Golden (a bit farther east of downtown). From Jefferson County Government Center–Golden Station, it's about a 1.5–2 mile walk or short bus/taxi to 11th Street. Options include the free Ore Cart Shuttle, Golden FlexRide, or local buses. Total one-way time: Roughly 1.5–2.5 hours depending on connections and wait times. Total cost: Usually covered by a $10 Day Pass. Tips Use the RTD NextRide trip planner (app.rtd-denver.com/nextride/plan) or the Transit app/Google Maps for real-time schedules, exact connections, and alerts. Enter your flight arrival time for best results. Buy tickets/passes via the RTD app, machines at stations, or onboard (exact change for buses). The A Line and W Line are accessible with luggage space, but it’s not as convenient as a rideshare if you have lots of bags. Service runs daily but less frequently late at night or early mornings—check schedules. For the reverse trip (Golden → DIA), do the opposite: W Line to Union Station, then A Line to DIA. This is fully doable on public transit without a car. Safe travels!
