We are asking all guests take a rapid Covid test before attending any wedding events. If you choose not to test please wear a kn95 and we will be providing limited kn95’s at the ceremony and reception. We only expect you to test once unless symptoms pop up. Many guests are immunocompromised please bear in mind how many people will be at this event that could die from the common cold and be respectful of that and accept this boundary. There are questions on the rsvp about needed accommodations for chronic illness, pain, or disability. Let us know if you need accommodations we may not have thought of. This venue only has multi stall gender neutral bathrooms. We will have pronoun pins on hand but feel free to bring your own! It would be nice for all guests to wear one in an effort to normalize the space but we are going to pick our battles.
This event will take place on the ground floor, no stairs required. There is a rooftop deck which is the preferred place for smokers to go and could be a nice respite from the crowd, but if there are physical limitations that prevent that there is an outdoor area on the ground floor as well.
They're nonbinary just make it up. Just call them “Not a Bride.” We are generally referring to the wedding party as "The Boo Crew." Also, please bear in mind that Kimber does use different pronouns in different spaces. While they is Kimber's pronoun, she is utilized in some areas of their life. If you hear someone use a different pronoun than what you are used to, please just leave it alone and continue using whatever pronoun they have asked you to use for them. This shouldn’t have to be said but apparently it does so we are gonna say it. It’s not okay to talk about anyone else’s genitals…it’s none of your business, don’t ask, don’t speculate, don’t gossip. Mind your manners. Just don’t fight and have fun, okay?
On the day we actually got married, we decided food was something borrowed if we didn’t plan to eat it. We cleared our pantry and made a donation to a food bank. Please donate to a food pantry in your area in honor of something borrowed. Our invites are arriving at your homes during a dark time in the United States where due to the shutdown many people who rely on SNAP can’t access their benefits and more people than ever are utilizing food banks right now. So please give what you can now and ongoing. The revolution needs to be accessible and take care of those who are vulnerable. We don’t care if it’s our something borrowed closer to the day of when so many people need it today.
This is a costume party. We don’t want to know your costume. No Harry Potter costumes allowed.
Spirit Halloween opens in August so you could just go buy one just before the event. Wizards Chest is a locally owned small business that should also have costumes. So if you show up without a costume after how gratuitous we’ve been in breaking it down that’s your choice to feel more comfortable not costumed in a room full of costumes than with a costume.
Wear a mask or a silly wig or do fun face paint. Put on a pair of wings and be a sparkle fairy. Dress totally 80's. Wear a character kigurumi - it will be cozy and also have hella pockets! Just have fun because that's the whole point. Just no Harry Potter.
Willy really hates clowns. So it would be polite to not be a clown. Kimber has adverse feelings toward Guy Fieri, and that's why it's probably likely that at least one guest will dress up as Guy Fieri but whatever. Absolutely no Harry Potter characters, you will be asked to leave if you violate this boundary. There will be children at this event, so we would appreciate keeping it "family friendly" in whatever that means to you. If you’re a kid wear whatever your parents are cool with. If you have selected a costume you have questions about the appropriateness of, let us know and we will figure out a way to discuss without it being a spoiler for us.
There are a few people doing this, largely because due to our country in crisis and personal impacts of it. If you are close friend or family let us know if you are attending virtually so we can figure out how to have you in photos, and also coordinate with someone that can have you available on a phone or tablet preferably integrated into a costume (ex. Video girl Barbie, Krang from TMNT.)
Ok fine nobody’s going to force you to have fun. You do you. We'd rather have you there and comfortable than there and costumed but anxious about it.
