Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Short answer: formal cool weather attire. Long answer: Think slacks (not jeans), long sleeves, ties, sweaters, midi or maxi dresses. Our colors are dark, and in decor we are preferring woodsy, bookish looks over bright florals. We do not recommend high heels or stilettos due to the soft ground on-site, but if you love heeled boots, go for it! Finally, we STRONGLY recommend bringing a coat in case of chilly weather. Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

November 9th.

Question

I don’t know my holiday plans yet, can I RSVP later?

Answer

We understand that, right now, you may not have a clear idea of how you will spend time with your family in December, and would never blame you for prioritizing them this year. The holidays are an exciting, tense, and busy time for everyone. In order to manage our own stress, we firmly ask that you RSVP by the stated date. Whether you decide to enjoy your time off at home or celebrating with us in person, we simply request that you commit to your decision either way.

Question

Why did you schedule the wedding right after Christmas?

Answer

We recognize that this is not an ideal time for everyone to be in attendance at our wedding. Ideally, we'd love for all our friends and family members to be present, but we know that you may have obligations to work or your own family, especially during the holidays. For better or worse, this is a time when our graduate programs ask little of us; this weekend meant all of our brothers, sisters, and parents could attend. We hope that even if you cannot make it to our wedding, you have a meaningful and love-filled season with your own family and celebrations!

Question

I have dietary restrictions. Will there be something for me to eat?

Answer

Yes, we did our best when planning the menu to accommodate common dietary needs. Our dinner menu is not finalized, but we are planning to serve mains, sides, and desserts that include dairy free, vegan, and gluten free options. If you are worried about not having enough to eat, you are welcome to reach out to us with a special request, or bring food for yourself!

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We did our best to remember your loved ones on the invitations and account for their presence on our big day. If you think we accidentally overlooked someone, please reach out to us individually. However, due to the constraints of the venue contract, we absolutely cannot have more than our estimated number of guests without a fine, and we ask that you help us keep this number down!

Question

Can I bring my kid to the wedding?

Answer

Yes! We tried hard to pick a venue that would be fun and safe for children. Of course, do not let your child be unattended or rowdy, or we will teach them how to pick locks. If your young child becomes unruly during the wedding ceremony, we kindly ask that you and your child move to another area where you will not disturb other guests.

Question

Can I bring my (service) dog to the wedding?

Answer

No.

Question

Do you have a honeymoon fund?

Answer

Yes! It is connected via Venmo (to circumvent fees) and linked under our registry.
