Tyler and Kimba met in 2019, and became friends when Tyler went rock climbing with the Wisotsky family every week. Over the years, Tyler and Kimba spent lots of time climbing inside and outside with friends, and the local climbing gym was the site of many early dates. Once they became official, their favorite dates have been climbing a magnolia tree together, where Tyler saw his first shooting star; visiting the Oconee Hill Cemetery; making Kimba's favorite soups together, as Tyler chops the onions and both of them cry; and going to local artists markets to buy ceramics. In 2022, Kimba and Tyler visited the Biltmore house and took pictures in front of a miniature orange tree, their symbol for "I love you." Then, in May 2025, the two visited the Biltmore house again, this time to find a greenhouse full of miniature orange trees, where Tyler proposed. Like the orange trees, Tyler and Kimba feel that their love has multiplied, matured, blossomed, and ripened to produce more than they ever thought imaginable.
