Lyric Coffee House
One of Kim’s favorite things to do on any trip is to find the closest coffee shop. Especially, getting to go on a walk with her morning coffee. We encourage you to check out the Lyric Coffee House - a cute coffee shop and a 10 minute walk away from the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel. Grab your coffee and take a walk along the riverfront!
1000 Islands Artisans and Delicacies and Bet's Bagels
Stop by 1000 Islands Artisans and Delicacies for locally made goods, gourmet treats, and unique gifts. Then grab a bite at Bet’s Bagels, a hometown favorite known for fresh, hand-rolled bagels.
Antique Boat Museum
Explore beautifully restored vintage boats, hop aboard a river ride, or tour a historic houseboat right on the St. Lawrence River.
Alexandria Bay
There are several shops, bars, and restaurants located in this small town. If you’d like to check it out, arrive early to the boat shuttle before heading over to the ceremony!
Singer Castle on Dark Island
Do you want to get your fill of historic castles on islands on this trip? Check out Singer Castle on Dark Island, about a 40-minute drive north of Clayton.
1000 Islands Tower
Located just across the border in Canada is the 1000 Islands Tower. Going to the top of this tower will give you a breathtaking view of the entirety of the 1000 Islands!
Montreal
We would love if you used our wedding as an excuse to take a trip to Montreal, one of our favorite cities. After all, we did discover the Thousand Islands while on a roadtrip to here. Montreal is about a 3-hour drive from the Thousand Islands. Ask us directly for our favorite spots!
Kingston
Kingston, Ontario, Canada sits right on Lake Ontario and the beginning of the St. Lawrence River. It is a cute, walkable town with shops and restaurants. Kim and Steve checked it out when they drove to Clayton in March 2026 to do their menu tasting at the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel. Kingston is about an hour drive from Clayton, NY.
