Host
We are thrilled that Diane (Kiana's Grandma) agreed to let us use her gorgeous yard to start the rest of our lives together- and she has been beyond helpful in this whole process. We love coming over for the day and just talking, looking at all of Diane's great photos of the family and places she has been, and on occasion, enjoy a card game or two. Thank you Diane for having us on our special day!
Officiant
As one of the people we respect most, Richard (Kiana's Grandpa) seemed like an obvious choice to officiate our marriage. Both very wise and a lot of fun, we are excited for what he brings to both the ceremony and the party afterward. Richard is the best person to just spend the day with- staring at the river and talking about life. We are so thankful he has agreed to make our marriage official!
Bride
Kiana is literally the best person you will ever meet (though, as her groom, I'm also biased writing this!) She is confident and assertive, which is a pleasant counterpoint to my own mediator personality. She has a degree in Microbiology from Oregon State University, where she also graduated Cum Laude. She loves hosting parties, hiking, walking, tea, and Wonder Woman. I'm sure I'll embarrass her enough in my vows so I'll leave off here. We can't wait to see you!
Groom
Isaac is literally the best person you will ever meet (though I am very biased). He loves everyone, and is one of the most patient people I have ever met. Though I knew he was the one way before he ever gave me the time of day, I'm over the moon he chose me in the long run. Isaac has two new honors bachelors degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science and is currently looking to start his career. He loves games of every kind making him a great match for me and my love of throwing parties that include both standard games and party games! We BOTH love hosting parties and I couldn't be more spoiled in having a partner in life, love, party hosting and Euchre (my favorite card game). More gushy details to come in my vows ;) We can't wait to see you!
Maid of Honor
The person who I can count on no matter what! She stuck by me when I didn't stick by myself and helped me turn into the person I am today. Kind, fierce, and a little bit cooky, Morgan is the person I respect the most. We did everything together growing up: plays, sports, school clubs, the IB program, lots and lots of adventures- so it just felt right to do this together as well. We've been apart for five years now- and the thing I am looking forward to, second only to getting married, is seeing this woman!
Best Man
Brian and I go a long way back - when we were four years old, he broke my finger in preschool while we were playing in the sand pit. And what do two four-year-olds do when one breaks another's finger? Become lifelong best friends, of course! Brian got me into Boy Scouts, introduced me to my first tabletop game, and has generally been a stand-up friend for the past 18+ years. I was his best man for his wedding this past May and couldn't be happier that he's mine!
Bridesmaid
As Felishia's older sister, they don't always get along, but they do always love each other. Felishia and her husband Chris starting going out only three months before us, but got married three whole years before us. Though we are only just now catching up, we are very excited to have them with us as we celebrate our special day. We are privileged that all of our siblings were able to be a part of our wedding party, but Felishia is our only sister/in-law so she is even more special to us!
Groomsman
Teo is the groom's older half brother; growing up, Isaac always wanted to follow his brother in playing basketball, practicing the guitar and having devilish good looks. Only the latter ended up panning out for Isaac, but things could be worse! Teo has been teaching English in Japan off and on for the past few years, and we couldn't be more honored he's chosen to fly across an ocean to be here with us on our special day.
Bridesmaid
Ever since our first day at OSU Liz has brought so much perspective and support into my life. After floating in and out of each-others social calendars over four years she went and moved to New York and will always be someone I want to spend more time with. As a good friend of both bride and groom we couldn't bare to celebrate without her.
Groomsmate
Fought over by the bride and the groom for which side of the wedding party this gem would be on, Isaac won the honor of having Thai on his side because of all the shared computer science hardships they have endured. Thai is one of the best humans we have ever met, funny, artistic and truly kind. Plus she loves to watch us bicker ;)
Bridesmaid
After serving on West Hall Council together freshman year we were friends, but it wasn't until the final year that we became super close. Elise is one of the sweetest people I know, her smile brightens my darkest days. Shout out to this lovely lady for recently getting into Med School, and still making time to be a bridesmaid to little old me. Though we both stayed in Oregon after graduation we're never as good as we mean to be at staying in touch, so getting a chance to hang with Elise is always welcome :D
Groomsman
I first met Miles and Rikki as part of my capstone group at Oregon State. Immediately, we shared more than just scholastic interests, and in the year we worked together on compiler engineering (which was challenging to say the least), Miles always had a good idea, an amusing comment, or a way to share our misery on what we were stumbling on. More than that, he has a generous heart and one of the keenest minds I've ever met. He's coming down from Seattle to attend our wedding and we are so glad to have him!
Bridesmaid
The person who is always reminding me to be a little nicer to myself, she is smart and funny and can be the life of the party. We also met in West Hall freshman year, and I am so glad we did because I don't know what I would have done without her senior year, so glad to have her by my side on this special day. Aparna worked in an immunology lab this last year and is now ready to start looking into dental school- good Luck, I know you can do it!
Groomsman
Rikki and I also met during our capstone project at Oregon State. His high energy and positivity helped make a difficult project into a manageable accomplishment, and there's nobody better to vent with! He also has a deep and profound love for music, having worked to complete a degree in music prior to his time at OSU for computer science. Currently working for Microsoft in Seattle, we are delighted to have him down for our special day.
Bridesmaid
Ariana and Kiana are both from Yakima Valley (Washington) and both ended up going to high school at Newport High (Oregon) crazy how life brings people together. Ariana is one of Kiana's closest childhood friends and they have shared too many crazy memories to count. Kiana's favorite memory with Ariana is when they acted out scenes from Macbeth and spent the night before watching Master Piece Classic Shakespeare. On top of that, we both love tea, baking, renaissance things, all of BBC and each other's company. Ariana is recently in a relationship that we ship so hard! <3 <3 <3
Groomsman
When I first met Tim my freshman year of college, his enormous smile and cheerful disposition immediately endeared him to me. In that first term, he managed to watch 366 episodes of a television show in under two months, so it's safe to say he's a dedicated lover of all things nerdy. He and I share taste in books as well, and we spent many an afternoon talking about the finer points of all our own thoughts and ideas about what we had just red. Tim is finishing his degree in Mechanical Engineering at OSU, and his presence is a joy for us on our special day!
Rope Bearer
Ronan Paul Murray Crocodile-Sammy-Fast Runner-High Jumper-Lefty, as he was known in his younger years, is Kiana's brother and the Rope Bearer in our wedding. The rope bearer is similar to a ring bearer but will be in charge of the ceremonial chords used in the Celtic hand-fasting ceremony we are having. Ronan is a member of the Oregon National Guard and was almost going to miss the wedding due to a special annual drill, luckily for us it was scheduled two weeks before and we are very glad to have him.
Ring Bearer
Ewan Patrick Murray, Kiana's other little brother, really wanted to be her ring bearer when he was four and she was twelve- what he didn't know if that she would take him up on that offer eleven years later. As the baby of the family, he is definitely the cutest and will be the cutest almost 16-year-old ring bearer there ever was. As a freshman at West Albany High School he is following in his sister's footsteps and loves Track, but is following in his future brother in law's footsteps with his passion of coding and computers.
