Right here on Zola.com! Since we do not live in the area we are getting married, we wanted to simplify transportation of gifts and Zola will ship them for us after the honeymoon.
Most of you loved us as babies, and we love your babies. We will have several shaded areas for your you and your little ones in the middle of August. All we ask is that you let us know one way or the other so that we can plan.
Kiana's grandparent's house is a little bit in the middle of no where so it can be hard to find. Google is your friend here, the address is 37220 Row River Road, Dorena, OR 97434. It is right after an elementary school and has a large metal gate that will be open. Please follow the parking signs once you get there.
Eugene is the closest airport and will allow you to avoid a lot of traffic. If you prefer to fly into a bigger airport Portland is the next closest but is a bit of a drive and will have traffic.
All guests older than Kiana's youngest brother (age- almost 16) were given a +1. Please let us know their name so they can feel included and we don't look dumb when we don't know who they are.
We would love it if all female identifying people would wear purple (any shade) and all male identifying people wear blue (any shade). Yes, if you are a lady and REALLY want to wear blue, you totally can. Want to wear red? Go for it, we just like the idea of our wedding looking like a color spirit day at school. Formal vs Casual Dress like you are going to a really fancy picnic (because you are) which is a weird place between formal and casual. We will love you no matter what you are wearing so just try your best.
Neither Isaac or Kiana have ever been to a wedding (or one that he remembers in Isaac's case). So they are making it up as they go. The ceremony will be a non-traditional, non-religious hand-fasting preformed by Kiana's grandfather Richard. You can expect a lot of fun and a lot of love, so we ask that you come with open minds.
The ceremony is at 11 but is about 20 minutes long, so if you don't want to miss half of it we suggest arriving around 10. We will have a mimosa and bloody mary bar for you to enjoy while you wait.
Please do! The bride herself is allergic to several things and understands how frustrating going to events can be when you are allergic. Let us know as early as possible and we will go above and beyond to have things that you can enjoy.
We are using the elementary school just before the venue for parking, please park there and then wait for a shuttle (just my cousins in an SUV) to pick you up and take you to the venue). Since this is happening in a backyard we encourage car pooling to save space AND THE ENVIRONMENT- something very important to the bride and groom.
As big believers in public transportation we are sad to say that since the wedding is in the middle of nowhere there is sadly no transportation other than cars. If you are looking to carpool let us know and we can get you in contact with other guests traveling from similar places.
Surprisingly no. Dorena is far enough away from larger towns that there is very little to no reception. Good excuse to have an unplugged wedding.
