Packing + Travel Tips

Since Taos is at almost a 7,000 foot altitude, the weather in October can get a bit cold, especially in the evening. The daytime temperatures are typically in the low 60s during this time of year. It isn't uncommon for it to snow in October, so definitely bring layers to keep yourself warm during the night. Otherwise, though, walking around in mid-October with the sun shining is one of the best times of year to visit Taos.
Other than packing your dress clothes for the wedding celebration on Saturday, for those of our guests who are "outdoors" people, we recommend bringing hiking clothes and shoes.
