Guest Arrival Begins and Bartering for the Bride
2:00 pm
14747 West Barr Road, Manhattan, IL 60442
The parking may be unorganized, and the ceremony site will be a 0.25-mile walk from the parking area. We ask that everyone aims to arrive between 2:00 and 2:15 so we have a comfortable window. Starting at 2:15 pm, we will begin Bartering for the Bride. You are welcome to witness and/or participate!
Wedding Ceremony
3:00 pm - 3:30 pm
We've been together for nearly 10 years, so this is the moment we are most looking forward to. If, due to work or other conflicts, you believe you may not be able to make it, please let us know.
Cocktail Hour
3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
We will be taking family, then bridal party, and then couples photos -- you will be mingling. Get ready for small talk over drinks and lawn games, weather permitting.
Grand Entrance, Dinner, and Toasts
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
We will do a buffet-style BBQ dinner. Check out the FAQ for more info.
Dancing, Games, and Hanging Out
7:00 pm - 10:15 pm
You better be ready to dance! Swing, Kolo, Salsa, Blues, Disco...be ready for a lot of styles, all of which are a blast. If you have not learned Kolo yet, please watch this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HdcACqkWwg4) to learn so we can all join together in the traditional dance of the Bride's family. If you'd like to learn basic swing, salsa, bachata, or other dances, just let us know and we can send you some resources. We will also set up some lawn games, a s'mores station, and other activities (weather permitting) for all of us to have fun outside of the dance floor. If you are a fun person and have some ideas or want to help with this, please let us know. If you need a break from the crowd and music, then the grounds are very nice to walk around.
Midwestern Goodbyes and Lights Out
10:15 pm - 10:30 pm
We must have everyone and everything off the premises by 11 PM, so we will have the last song (we are super jazzed about our choice, so if you are able to, please stay) and then start saying goodbyes. Just like it took a long time to get in, it will take a while for everyone to leave. PLEASE no drunk or unsafe driving. Have a plan to get home safely. We are in the middle of nowhere, so there are not plenty of Ubers for everyone to order. Please plan ahead. Reach out if you need help or ideas.
Cleanup
10:30 pm - 11:00 pm
Designated family and friends will stay to clean up and pack cars.
