Kevin and Nicole met at Illinois Wesleyan University, a small liberal arts college in Bloomington, IL. Nicole developed a small crush on Kevin after meeting him in the Writing Center in 2012. During Kevin’s senior year, he was in a play where he kissed his scene partner — which made Nicole weirdly jealous and reignited her feelings. We bumped into each other a few weeks later on November 13, 2013, where Nicole invited Kevin out swing dancing and out for food. A mutual friend got us both to realize our meetup sounded a lot like a date. It was at El Porton, a local Mexican restaurant, and we hit it off. The conversation flowed and the laughter came easily. Nicole sealed the deal by surprising Kevin at the next week’s newspaper editing night with hot cocoa and a horribly cheesy poem. We kept our connection through winter break and through Nicole’s study abroad. Nicole came back a week early to surprise Kevin at graduation — the first time his family had ever seen him speechless. We officially began our relationship a few weeks later on May 15, 2014.
Since then, we have discovered a mutual love of hiking and biking, moved in together, and adopted two adorable cats named Huck and Molly. Now, we are both excited to get wed, celebrate with our friends and families, and start building a family of our own. We hope for a healthy life together with many kids, hiking trips, bike rides, long walks, bad tennis, good food, laughter, kindness, movies, music, and family time. We are so grateful for everyone who has supported our relationship and will continue to support our marriage and family.
