Covid-19 Tourist Information

All persons aged 10 or over arriving by air in Guatemala must present a negative COVID-19 PCR or Antigen test, dated no more than 72 hours before the date of your arrival at a Guatemalan airport. Airlines will request proof of a negative test and completion of the Health Pass prior to boarding. Passengers without a negative COVID-19 antigen or PCR test taken at most 3 days before departure from the first embarkation point are subject to a COVID-19 test upon arrival at their own expense (La Aurora Intl Airport). This test costs US $25 or Q.200 (Quetzales, local currency). This does not apply to: – passengers younger than 10 years; – passengers with a COVID-19 recovery certificate issued at least 10 days after the positive test result. The passenger must have tested positive at most 3 months before arrival; – passengers with a COVID-19 vaccination certificate if the last vaccine dose was received at least 2 weeks before departure

Covid-19 Testing Facilities

Testing is available at private clinics and hospitals in Guatemala City and in many departments outside of the capital.. Antigen testing typically costs between Q300 and Q600. PCR testing costs between Q600 and Q1,500 and more depending on turnaround time. Results are emailed within 2 to 48 hours.
