We technically first met at an NMU hockey game in January 2015 and we both proceeded to sass a mutual friend (sorry, Tom!) on the matter state of glass at the same time (Tom was sitting between us). We didn't see each other again until the following May when another mutual friend decided to get a bunch of people together at Blackrocks Brewery. The only other person we both knew was at the other end of the table, so Manny and I started talking. Two weeks later, I got up the nerve to ask him out and here we are almost eight years later! - Kendra

After days of conspiring with Kendra's best friend, Katherine (our MOH), I decided to propose at the top of Sugarloaf Mountain. In an attempt to have a private, personal, and intimate moment to propose, we had to wait for hordes of people (and a sausage of a pitbull that distracted Kendra) to dissipate from the area until it finally started raining. Fifteen minutes after it started raining, we finally had the privacy for me to get down on one knee and ask Kendra to marry me. She made a lot of noises which I can only translate as a "yes" (there was a "yes," I promise). - Manny
