In 2021, Kelsey and Conor reunited in Colorado just a few short weeks after Conor made the move to Denver. It didn't take long for them to realize they grew up going to the same YMCA summer camp in Michigan, Camp Echo. With a few years difference between them, they never had the chance to get to know each other. Fast forward 12 years and they found themselves instantly connecting over some cold beers. Since that night, their time has been filled with countless days skiing, hiking and backpacking through the mountains with the best doggo, Chuck. They feel incredibly lucky to have had such a serendipitous run-in, and neither of them could imagine their life without the other.
It was a lovely evening in beautiful Pembine, WI. Kelsey and Conor were sitting on the dock with their feet in the water. It felt like any other glorious night Up North - they were enjoying the sunset, with fish hitting the surface of a sparkling glass lake. While soaking in each still moment, Conor slowly got onto one knee and asked Kelsey to spend the rest of her life with him. Just the two of them at the end of the pier. It was perfect. They finished the night celebrating with family in classic Kelsey (old) fashion(ed), at a Wisconsin supper club.
Our ceremony will take place on a secluded mountain top at Winter Park Resort. You will be transported by gondola and then a quick coach bus ride to Lunch Rock, a mountain lodge frequented by Conor and Kelsey over the winter months. Once at the top, the scenery opens up to beautiful views of aspen groves and the Rocky Mountains. We can't wait to share this special place with family and friends as we say, "I Do"! Our cocktail hour and reception will take place at a gorgeous, reclaimed barn in the heart of Winter Park, CO called the Headwaters Center. The Headwaters Center is Colorado's first off-the-power-grid gathering place for celebrations! Their mission is to raise awareness about the critical role the Colorado River headwaters play in our environment, economy, and lifestyle. Using the funds from events and putting them towards conservation efforts of Colorado's river systems. We're so excited we can play a role in those efforts! You can visit the interactive River Journey exhibit on the first floor of their building. We encourage you to do so for a small ticket fee.
