FAQs

Question

What will the weather be like in Estes Park in September?

Answer

The weather in early September in Estes Park should be generally sunny and beautiful! You can expect daytime temperatures typically ranging from the mid-60s to 70s Fahrenheit. Evenings can be cooler, often dropping into the 50s. Though the days are generally sunny, there is the chance of occasional afternoon thunderstorms, so it's a good idea to bring a light jacket and rain protection (fingers crossed this stays in your suitcase!).

Question

What is the altitude of Estes Park?

Answer

Estes Park, Colorado sits at an elevation of 7,522 feet, and the wedding venue will be at 8,083 feet! Please be aware of the effects of high altitude and start hydrating at least 2 days before you arrive in Colorado! Drink more water than you think you'll need, and consider adding electrolytes. Don't overdo it with exercise and note that alcohol tends to have greater effects at higher elevation. For our guests coming from sea level- think of it like 1 alcoholic drink has the same effect of 2 drinks! Finally, make sure to wear sunscreen every day, even if it's overcast! TLDR: don't forget sunscreen and hydration, and watch your alcoholic drinks!

Question

Is the wedding mostly outdoors or indoors?

Answer

Wild Basin Lodge is an indoor/outdoor venue, so please bring jackets (umbrellas are provided at the venue in the case of rainy weather). The ceremony will be outdoors and is a 3-minute walk down a dirt trail, so wear appropriate shoes as needed (we recommend avoiding stilettos, or at least bringing a different pair to change in to for the walk!). Cocktail hour will be both indoors and outdoors. Dinner and the reception will be indoors. If the weather is mostly cold/rainy, then we will coordinate for most/all of the wedding events to be indoors.

Question

Do you have special mobility needs or concerns about the walk to the ceremony?

Answer

There is an option to be dropped off immediately at the ceremony location, if you need to avoid the walk for mobility needs or other concerns. Let Kelsey know and she will help you coordinate this! Otherwise, the rest of the venue is completely accessible :)!

Question

Can I make a special food request due to an allergy or dietary concern?

Answer

Of course! We will be asking for this on your RSVP. If you have a new allergy or concern that you forgot to put on the RSVP, no worries, just text us!

Question

Is there free parking at the venue?

Answer

Yep! While we will have shuttles running to/from the venue for each of our guests, you can also drive to the venue and use their parking lot for free if you want! If you choose to drive, but are unable to safely drive home, please take the shuttle service back to the hotel! We can help you get your car the next morning by 10:00 am.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

As much as we adore your kids, our wedding will be an adults-only affair with the exception of kids of the Babcock and Corrigan families. We want everyone to enjoy the evening with dancing, cocktails, and a little grown-up fun. We really appreciate your understanding! This being said, if you do plan to bring your kiddos to Estes Park for the weekend, we would love for them to come to the other events on Friday 9/4 and Sunday 9/6! We know that traveling with kids can be tricky, so if you need a babysitter while you enjoy the wedding festivities, we are happy to help you with this. We will coordinate babysitting services for the wedding evening from local, trusted childcare providers. Just contact us if you are interested and would like to learn more about this!

Question

Do I have to contribute to your gift registry in order to attend the wedding?

Answer

Of course not! As we prepare to embark on our new journey together, your travel to Estes Park and presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for. However, if you would like to contribute to our special day, please visit the registry tab on our website. There will also be a box for cards at the reception. Thank you for your love and support!

Question

Can I take photos/videos during the ceremony?

Answer

We are having an “unplugged” ceremony. This means that we are asking for all devices to be turned off and put away during the ceremony. We have hired a wonderful photographer and videographer to capture this moment for all of us! After the ceremony is over, please feel free to take as many photos or videos as you want!

Question

Do you have any other questions or concerns?

Answer

Please feel free to text/call/email Kelsey or Collin at any times with any questions or concerns that you have!
