Similar to the National Exchange, the Holbrooke Hotel is another restored hotel and saloon from the gold mining era of California. It is located in Grass Valley, Nevada City's sister city and only a ten minute drive away.
Travel Note
When looking for accommodations, don't forget to check out Grass Valley as well. It is Nevada City's next door neighbor and might not come up in your hotel searches for Nevada City. Nevada City is surrounded by Tahoe National Forest and has numerous campgrounds if you prefer to sleep under the stars. Campgrounds can be found on www.recreation.gov which is linked in this note :)
