Hander took an impromptu trip to San Francisco to visit his friend and explore the city. Low and behold that friend was also Kelly's housemate at the time. One night after Hander got back from a football game, he walked into the house cheerfully to find Kelly watching Gilmore Girls with a box of tissues and cough drops, fighting off a cold. Hander suggested a silly cartoon show instead to get her laughing--Bojack Horseman. The two of them talked, laughed, and even danced the night away. A few days later they reconnected when his friend had to work and Kelly had the day off. Over the course of 12 hours Kelly took Hander to all her favorite spots in San Francisco and ended the day with a knowing they wanted to see each other again. During the next three months they formed a strong bond over the phone leading to Kelly visiting Hander in Puerto Rico. They spent two blissful weeks in paradise together and just one short month later Hander moved to San Francisco to continue their journey together that eventually led to this event.

Kelly and Hander's dear friends invited them to their forest home for an Easter brunch and surprise Easter egg hunt. After Hander won the Easter egg hunt *of course* Jarrod asked Kelly to help him make sure no left over candies were hiding for forest critters to find. While Kelly did not find any stray candies she did find a decoy ring of hers hiding in the leaves. As she was pondering how the ring of hers got there and why it was there, she heard her friend Katie yell out OMG! As she looked up to make sure Katie was okay she saw her beloved down on one knee with the most sparkly and perfect ring she's ever seen. As a well of laughter and tears rose up she said a resounding YES!!
