This is a bar where you can play Colombia's national sport, Tejo, which involves throwing stones, gunpowder and explosives. It's hard to explain, but you have to try it!
A cool bike tour that starts downtown and goes to different parts of the city, including many places you might not get to go to as a tourist. A fun activity to do if you like riding bikes and you have an extra day during your trip.
This is an upscale flea market in the north of the city. Good place to spend the afternoon to do a little shopping and try out one of the many restaurants in the area. Only open on Sundays and holidays (Monday, July 4th is a holiday in Colombia so this will be open). Once we recover from the wedding on Sunday, it is likely we will come here to spend the afternoon!
Of course Colombia is known for its coffee, so you have to try some while you are here! Some of the best coffee shops with high quality beans and different locations around the city are: Azahar Tropicalia Cafe Cultor Colo Coffee Amor Perfecto Arte y Pasión Cafe Also, Juan Valdez is a famous chain, like a Colombian Starbucks.
Here are some museums that we recommend visiting: Museo de Arte Miguel Urrutia is a free art museum located in downtown Bogota. This is Kelley's favorite museum. The Gold Museum (museo del oro) is Bogotá's most famous museum. It showcases gold and other historical artifacts from Colombia's pre-Hispanic cultures. MAMBO is Bogota's museum of modern art. Just down the street from Kelley and Pedro's house!
