Flight

Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR)

Syracuse is the best airport for getting to Ithaca with direct flights to most major hubs in the East and Midwest. If you fly in, we recommend renting a car because there are limited bus options to get to Ithaca from the Syracuse Airport; it is approximately a one hour drive from Syracuse to Ithaca. You can also fly to the Ithaca Tompkins Regional airport (ITH), but there are limited flight options.

Getting to Ithaca from NYC

If you're coming from NYC or stopping there along your journey, you can get to Ithaca by driving or by bus. The trip takes about 4 hours in moderate traffic. Having a car in Ithaca is helpful if you're interested in exploring the amazing hiking and wineries in the region. If you're taking a bus, we recommend the Campus-to-Campus bus run by Cornell or the Shortline/Coach USA express bus.
