Things to Do
Como Park Zoo & Conservatory
We love walking around the Como Zoo and Conservatory, so we encourage you to explore the grounds before or during our celebration, too! You can feed giraffes, watch the sloth in the rainforest area, or go visit the Galapagos tortoises Keith loves. Diem particularly enjoys walking around the bonsai garden and the garden of edible plants.
Minneapolis Institute of Art
One of our favorite places to visit in the Twin Cities; we stop by a few times a year. The MIA is not only beautiful, expansive, and surrounded by great places to eat, but admission is free!
Mill City Museum
Very interesting story of Minneapolis's history with a beautiful view of the Mississippi River and the Stone Arch Bridge below.
Gamezenter
Formerly known as Fantasy Flight Games, this is the best place to try creative, new board games for free!
Tilia
This was where we had our first date, after petting the cats and chickens at the children's bookstore next door (The Wild Rumpus). It is located in the vibrant Linden Hills neighborhood, close to picturesque Lake Harriet. A perfect stop on a brisk fall stroll!
Quang Restaurant
Diem's parents have given this restaurant their stamp of approval for authentic Vietnamese food!
Himalayan Restaurant
This is easily the one restaurant we visit most whenever in the Twin Cities—we absolutely love their chicken tikka masala!
Twin Cities Restaurant Week 2021
Our wedding happens to take place during the Twin Cities’ Fall Restaurant Week! From October 11-17, enjoy two to three course prix fixe menus for just $10 to $45 per person at any of the restaurants included in the link here.
Milkjam Creamery
We stumbled into this place when it had first opened. Even though it was the dead of winter, we loved the unique flavors and we keep coming back!
Bebe Zito Ice Cream
A newer favorite ice cream shop for us. Conveniently only a short walk away from Milk Jam if you wish to recreate the post-wedding ice cream crawl we did in 2020…
Glam Doll Donuts
We enjoy pretty much all of these fancy donuts, but Outlaw and Misfit are favorites! They made custom donuts for our pandemic wedding, featuring succulents and candy turtles!
TILT Pinball Bar
Creative hot dogs and a huge variety of pinball machines. Diem's favorite is the Avengers machine and Keith's favorite is the Twilight Zone.
Blue Sun Soda Shop
This is one of our favorite places to visit, even if it's just to walk through the aisles of hundreds of different sodas from all over the world. They have a locally made section and a selection of weird novelty sodas, such as pickle or ranch dressing flavored sodas!
Lake Bde Maka Ska
A beautiful lake with paved walking paths. In the fall, the area is lit up with beautiful foliage and cool with waterfront breezes. Street parking is available.
Mayo Clinic
Some of our guests from out of state may want to see the Mayo Clinic, but just be aware that it is actually about 1.5 hours south of where our wedding is taking place. Also, access to the buildings is limited without an employee badge.
