Our Recommendations

The Wedding Website of Gabrielle Kehoe and Taylor Tebbe
We are so excited the time to celebrate is almost here! It will be an extra special time here in New Orleans as Mardi Gras Day is March 4 with parades leading up the days before and St Patricks Day festivities kicking off the week after. We're hoping to offer our out-of-town guests the chance to enjoy a full week of fun if they choose. If it’s only a long weekend for you, we’ve come up with a few of our top personal favorites of New Orleans to share below. If you are looking for more kid friendly activities, food recommendations just give us a call or text and we have so much more!
Jackson Square

Jackson Square

New Orleans, LA 70116

Jackson Square is a great starting spot for a beautiful day in the French Quarter. It is surrounded by a number of unique things to do and see such as The French Market & Cafe Du Monde, The Mississippi River, Jax Brewery and many shops including Canal Place. Recommend in the day time, and not go around Canal St. beyond Canal Place area.

City Park

City Park

New Orleans, LA

City Park is a staple place for us. We love to visit New Orleans Museum of Art, sit near Big Lake in the sun and watch the ducks and birds, ride bikes or even rent a paddle boat. There is plenty of options to check out via the park website link here!

Saint Charles Streetcar (NORTA Route 12)

Saint Charles Streetcar (NORTA Route 12)

Saint Charles Streetcar, New Orleans, LA

After living in Denver and the Bay Area, we’ve become a big fans of public transportation and luckily for us, New Orleans has the streetcar! We now live near the St. Charles line and love to take it anytime we can and get to see all the beautiful oak trees and large St. Charles Ave. mansions or around this time of year, beads in trees which are always an incredible sight after parade seaon. We also love to get off at Audubon Park and take the long walk around the loop or keep riding and pass our old Alma mater, De La Salle as we head downtown.

The National WWII Museum

The National WWII Museum

945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

If you love history, dealing with gloomy or rainy weather, have the extra time or family that served like us then the World War 2 museum is the perfect place to spend a few hours and in a cute area to also grab a local bite.

Frenchmen Street

Frenchmen Street

Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA

If you’re looking to really experience New Orleans night life with the locals and hear amazing live music and see some of the best art then you are DEFINITELY not on Bourbon St. Frenchman Street is our favorite area to head out around Mardi Gras time and hear some local music. Be sure to try Willie’s Chicken Shack or Dat Dog for some delish eats!
