Bride
Let’s assume you probably know Ali by now but if not - brace for impact. The only things she likes more than whiskey and bad tv are Texas and baseball (Houston baseball). She and Erik actually connected over their deep love of baseball, and yes they are absolutely a house divided (they have friends willing to take Cubs-fan Erik in if ever, God forbid, the Astros and Cubs face each other in the playoffs). She’s a southern belle who will give Paula Deen a run for her butter in the kitchen, but will also give every sailor known to man a run for his vocabulary - let’s just say she’s a spitfire with a heart of gold.

So if you don’t know Ali, you probably know Erik and if not, you’re missin’ out. He’s one of the kindest, gentlest men to grace the earth, and his passions run deep. When he sets his mind to a task or interest or cause, he sees it through and then some. An avid woodworker, reader, movie fan, comic collector, sci-fi nerd (lovingly), baseball fan, pit master, baker (who knew?!), family man, and now budding bow-hunter, he really is a jack-of-all-trades. The world truly is a better place with him in it, and he makes the best boyfriend-turned-fiancé, almost-son-in-law, and dog-dad Ali and her family could ask for.
Maid of Honor
Ali met her in 7th grade, they got into lots of trouble together in high school, drifted apart a bit in college then reconnected in 2013 and they’ve been inseparable since! (They finish each other’s sentences...) They drink lots of wine, eat way too much queso, cheer each other’s workouts on, watch every scandalous period drama available on streaming, complain about clothing sizing, work through life’s trials, listen, cry, and laugh together.

Matron of Honor
Mama Erickson needs no introduction but just know that she is the best. Taught her girls how to laugh (even at themselves), how to take no guff, how to be patient, how to love (especially themselves), and how to properly take care of their cast iron. They’re truly the luckiest girls in the world to be able to call her ‘mom,’ and she’s set the best example of how to parent with kindness, love, and understanding.

Kinsey, Ali, and Cathy were the three musketeers for a bit in middle and high school and the three have remained close ever since. Kinsey has always been a calm, measured influence when Ali (and Cathy) had all the hell to raise. Their families had a lot of similarities and going through life together, especially with younger sisters all in the same age group coming up, has proven an absolutely invaluable source of support and sisterhood. Ali wouldn’t trade a single second of their friendship and life together. The family Kinsey and her husband, Chris, have grown is the sweetest and gives us all something to hope for.

Ali’s little sister - growing up they were oil and vinegar and in a lot of ways still are, but they’re also more alike than either probably cares to admit. As the folly of youth fades, they’re realizing having a sister is pretty cool. They’ve also been recognized completely randomly as the others sister simply based on voice (they sound and speak almost identically), plus... the teeth and forehead. Can’t mistake the Erickson sisters!

So... Katherine and Ali met in the bathroom of a heavy metal show YEARS ago. And as all good “we met in the women’s room while drinking” stories go, they’ve been soul-sister, spirit-animals ever since. SO MANY travels and silly stories and chicken nuggets and whiskey shared between them. Their friendship truly is a gem. She’s an inconceivably talented tattoo artist (seriously, check her out on Instagram!), and her creativity and kindness touch everyone around her. Living in different states is a bummer (Houston, TX - Ft Collins, CO) but they’ve managed to foster and nurture their friendship even in spite of COVID. They both say it a lot but it is true, they’re so lucky to have one another.

Susan trained Ali on her first (or second?) day at Veterans Evaluation Services back in 2015. She was wrapped in a Snuggie and was very unamused with a cranky veteran on the other end of the line. Needless to say, Ali knew she was her kinda person. Over the course of 2019 and 2020, their friendship truly blossomed and they became exceptionally close. Keeping each other grounded and enjoying cheap Trader Joe’s wine and cheese while yelling over each other (they’re both very loud women) has been an absolute delight for both.
