Just renovated - the dinosaurs and the Egyptology installations are can’t miss.

Contemporary Arts Museum Houston

The Galleria

Shop til you drop with plenty of good food. From haute couture to run-of-the-mill shops. Great way to spend an afternoon, if for no other reason than people watching.

The Menil Collection

Lovely collection of art. Delicious cafe on site with beautiful green space to relax in after.

Kemah Boardwalk

A bit of a drive but has a ton of fresh seafood restaurants (as well as other cuisines), you can eat out on a patio and watch ships come in. With fun typical boardwalk games too.

Houston Zoo

Can’t recommend enough. It’s a zoo!

Hermann Park

A beautiful outdoor space next to the museum of science and the zoo - definitely stop over and walk around. They have a train that runs through it and some beautiful Japanese gardens.

West 19th Street

Lots of cute boutique shopping with cafes and restaurants - very walkable.

Beautiful park with perfect views of downtown.

The Original Ninfa's on Navigation

Ninfas is the originator of the fajita (Ali says go to el Tiempo, Erik says ninfas). Also, el tiempo is the son of the original mama ninfa (broke with the family and opened his own spot).

Houston has a huge wonderful Vietnamese community and Mai’s is a staple in midtown. Dont miss the garlic tofu and garlic beef.

Soul food meets breakfast in heaven. Worth any wait you may have.

Frenchys Chicken

It’s a chain joint but the Scott street location is the new “original,” you can stop at any of the locations and still get the best fried chicken ever.

Wildly popular vegetarian Indian buffet.

Probably the best Thai food we’ve ever had. Red curry, Penang curry and ALL of their appetizers are amazing.
