We have chosen to host our wedding in the Catskills, a mountainous area of New York approximately 100 miles north-northwest of New York City, and 40 miles south of Albany. The Catskills served as the backdrop for Johnny and Baby’s love affair in Dirty Dancing, the home of the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival, and the resting site for Rip Van Winkle’s infamously long nap in Washington Irving’s iconic tale. This area (along with the Hudson Valley), helped us stay sane during NYC Covid shutdowns, and were the site of lots of AirBnB stays. We hope you'll enjoy the beautiful fall weather and everything nature-related while you're in town. If booking an AirBnB, may we recommend a place with a fireplace AND a fire pit-- both must haves for ultimate coziness. We suggest renting a house- should you go that route- in Stamford, East Meredith, or Davenport as it's on the shuttle route from the hotels. We just may be able to add a shuttle stop so keep us in the loop and we'll see what we can do!
