Kayson and JoAnna met in middle school, where they shared a dislike of their math class they were in together. JoAnna grew up in a house full of boys, so it wasn’t unusual that her way of showing affection was, well, slightly bullying. Kayson needed some help being reminded to pay attention and to not flirt with other girls, so sitting in front of JoAnna was the perfect opportunity to kick some sense into him. A little unorthodox of a meet cute but here we are so it must’ve worked!

Kayson and JoAnna share a special place in their small town of Seward, a little pond in the fairgrounds. The perfect place for fishing, reading, laughing, and popping the question. JoAnna had mentioned how beautiful the pond must be frozen over and covered in snow, Kayson agreed and the question of whether they could walk out on the ice was asked.. Kayson took this opportunity to finally take that ring out of his pocket! JoAnna was taking a video of the scenery and when she turned around, the most handsome man was kneeling in front of her. After making sure he hadn’t fallen, she heard him ask “Wanna get married?” and of course said yes!
