Lanier Islands Legacy Lodge, Villas & Lakehouses

It’s a quick walk down a short path to the Pointe from the Lodge. The villas are also pretty close, but maybe a 10 min walk/1 min drive. The lake houses will be a quick 3-4 min drive if you choose one of those, but still nearby. They are a great solution for bigger parties to cut costs!

Holiday Inn Express

We want to provide less expensive alternatives to staying at the Resort. The Holiday Inn Express is about a 10 minute drive/Uber from the resort. I found rates as low as $96/night for the weekend of our wedding. There is no room block here, you would just book as you normally would.

Hampton Inn & Suites Flowery Branch

We want to provide less expensive alternatives to staying at the resort. The Hampton Inn is about a 15 minute drive/Uber ride from the resort. I found rates as low as $109/night for the weekend of our wedding. There is no room block here, you would just book as you normally would.

Flight

Google Flights into ATL

I’ve found that Google Flights has the cheapest flights and you can see a calendar of fares in case your dates are flexible. Beware of uber-cheap airliners like Spirit or Frontier. The fares are cheap, but you often have to pay extra to even carry on a bag, for oxygen, etc. Fees add up quickly and usually it’s easier to go with a more reputable airline.

While I use google flights for almost all flights, note that not all airlines participate in Google’s aggregated flight search, so you might want to also check Southwest or JetBlue as sometimes they have cheaper flights depending on your origin.

Rental Car

Transportation from ATL to Lanier Islands Resort

The resort is about 40 miles north of Atlanta. Uber and Lyft are prevalent and should be the most cost-effective mode of transportation. Car rentals are another option-particularly if you want to go into the city or do some site-seeing!
