In the picturesque setting on the beaches of Costa Rica, Kaylee and Jake's love story unfolded in the most unexpected of ways. It all started with Kaylee's stroke of luck—a free trip she won from a LinkedIn contest, taking her on a whirlwind "Eat Pray Love" adventure. Their paths crossed at a Surf and Sales conference, where Kaylee, eager to explore, found herself surrounded by 17 career-driven adventurers from around the world. Among them was Jake, who ended up there thanks to a friend's persuasion. Fate had a funny way of bringing them together, seating them side by side at the first dinner. Kaylee was on the hunt for a new job, and Jake was the only person at the conference not trying to “sell” her on working for their company. Instead, he struck up conversations with Kaylee asking questions about her social life, favorite sports teams, and how the food was in Kansas City... sparking an instant connection. Amidst the full days of surfing and sales training, they found solace in each other's company-- sharing laughs, stories, and became instant friends. As their time in Costa Rica came to an end with the final hours of catching waves, Kaylee finally paddled up to ask Jake about his work. Turns out, he was passionate about his job at Greenhouse, showing through the light in his eyes as he talked about it. Little did Kaylee know, this conversation would change the course of her life. Half a year goes by, and Kaylee makes her way to New York to visit a KC best friend combined with a work offsite for her new job at Greenhouse. This was the first time Jake and Kaylee would see each other in person since the Pura Vida days. Amongst casual work events, team dinners, a karaoke bar, and stolen glances... they realized their friendship was turning into something deeper. From that moment on, their love story became a cherished memory. Through countless miles between Kansas City and New York — their love only grew stronger. A reminder of the magic that can happen when you least expect it— in the heart of Costa Rica, amidst the waves and sales stories.
