Kayla and Parker's story began in October 2019 during their sophomore year at Cal Poly SLO. They'd crossed paths through mutual friends, but it was a shared Biology 101 lecture that finally brought them together. Parker sat behind Kayla in the lecture hall and, in true Parker fashion, his opening move was asking her how she did on the midterm. What started as post-lecture small talk turned into something neither of them saw coming, and the two quickly became inseparable. Their adventure went abroad in the fall of 2019 while living and studying in different countries, Kayla in Florence and Parker in Barcelona, igniting a shared love for travel that’s followed them everywhere since. Following graduation, they conquered a three-year long-distance chapter while Kayla completed her graduate school program and Parker relocated to San Diego. Countless FaceTimes, flights, and visits only strengthened their bond until Kayla relocated to San Diego in 2024. Their long-distance dates quickly turned into daily beach walks, Padres games, and sunny days on the water. On April 4th, 2026, under the guise of an early Easter brunch, Parker completely surprised Kayla during a walk along the water at Scripps Pier in La Jolla, asking her to spend the rest of her life with him. It was the easiest and quickest "yes" of her life! We are so excited for this next chapter and cannot wait to celebrate with all of our beloved friends and family. 4/3/27 can't come soon enough!
