Question

Do they take dollars (USD) in Ghana?

Answer

No, you will need to exchange your dollars into cedis once you enter the country. Ghana's exchange rate varies on the type of dollar bill used. For example: $200 in 100 dollar bills exchanges for more cedis than $200 in 50 dollar bills, or 20 dollar bills, and so on. I advise you to bring new 100 dollar bills or use your debit card for the highest yield of cedis.
