North Carolina Zoo
Less than an hour south of the venue, the NC Zoo is a top rated zoo with many exciting exhibits. It's a lot of fun for kids and adults!
Hanging Rock State Park
Stunning views (especially in the fall) and pretty waterfalls... it's worth the climb- I promise!
ZincHouse Winery & Brewery
A beautiful spot to hang outside for the day. Even if you aren't a wine or beer person, Zinchouse often has food trucks and vendors along with live music during the day. The sprawling vineyard is a great photo spot too!
Pinehurst
Exploring around the area where Sammy grew up would be a close enough day trip to the venue. The golf is of course the centerpiece of Pinehurst, but the village area downtown as well as Downtown Southern Pines are cute towns to visit as well!
Blue Ridge Parkway
The NC Mountains are GORGEOUS in the fall. While our wedding date will be a little too early for lower elevation foliage, if you're feeling adventurous take a trip a little further west to Rough Ridge, Mount Mitchell, or drive the Blue Ridge Parkway for stunning views.
Outer Banks, North Carolina
Beautiful beaches on the outskirts of the coast of North Carolina. We don't know how much longer they'll be able to be enjoyed. The beauty is definitely worth seeing, even in the fall!
Charleston, South Carolina
For those travelling from out of town, we recommend making a trip of it if you have the time! Charleston, South Carolina is a beautiful coastal town that has immense history. The cobblestone streets and historic buildings are definitely worth the extra exploration time.
Wilmington, NC
Nicknamed "Wilmywood" Wilmington has been featured in many TV shows and movies. It's known for its historic riverfront down town and beautiful beaches- we recommend catching the ferry after going to the Aquarium at Fort Fisher.
