Ramón and Katy first met working together at Morgan's Pier in Philadelphia in 2013. Katy was a server and Ramón was a line cook. In such a big restaurant their paths crossed infrequently. Ramón will say that he tried flirting with Katy when they did see each other, but she only remembers an awkward hello by the very smelly dumpsters before Ramón retreated to the kitchen. In 2019 they were reconnected by the fairytale that is OkCupid. After matching, Ramón broke the ice with a message that said "I think we worked together at the pier" and Katy, replied with "Oh, did we?" (Instead of bringing up the dumpster thing.) In May 2019 they went on their first date, and they went to Morgan's Pier. When Katy told one of her girlfriends about the upcoming date at the place she used to work with the boy she worked with, her friend texted back "You're gonna marry this guy!", and here we are 4 years, a pandemic, many career changes, a couple degrees, a bit of loss, and lots of love later as they prepare to tie the knot in paradise!
