Bride
The following ladies are the ones who very much make up who I am today. Each one has been with me in different parts of my life.. through the laughter and through the tears. They say "choose your friend's wisely". I did and cherish each and every one. I am so blessed to have such wonderful ladies in my life. <3
Groom
I have some great friends. But my four groomsmen would, and in some cases have done everything in their power to help me when they feel I am in trouble. It will be fun having them by my side as I enter this new chapter in my life. I am also looking forward to hearing what my Best Men have to say at the reception.
Matron of Honor
Peggy and I always joke about how we were rivals at our church youth group in high school since we both had leaders training us to lead the worship team. Haha! But those "rival" days brought us pretty close together and we became the best of friends. Even with Peggy and I going to different colleges... me moving out of country.. and then coming home.. then moving out of state.. we have always been able to keep in touch. Whenever we meet it's as if nothing has changed and we pick up right where we left off. Peggy has the other half of brain. This girl knows me! She's my sister from another mister. As I was MOH for her wedding I am glad that she'll be my MATOH for mine. Haha! I could not do this without her!
Best Man
Jeff has been one of my closest friends since the first grade, and his family has felt like my own for as long as I can remember. Because I have known Jeff for so long, we have been through every milestone together. From first girlfriends, to his wedding, and now my own. Jeff is the kindest most virtuos man I know. I couldn't imagine getting married without him standing with me.
Maid of Honor
Most people think we're twins. We often get mistaken for one another even by our own relatives. But she is my baby sis... the one who I carried in my arms when she was just a little newborn and brought her down the long staircase at home as if she was my very own baby doll. Boy did I give my mom a fright! I've loved this baby sis of mine my whole life. The "miracle" "surprise" baby! She's the only one (other than my soon to be spouse) who understands how weird I can be and let's me do so around her. I am so happy that she'll be by my side on our wedding day. I guess she doesn't have a choice though right? :D Love u sis!
Best Man
Leigh and I first met when he moved to Seattle freshman year of high school. We barely knew each other when he helped me get my first job at the hardware store. At the time I didn't understand why this guy was willing to vouch for me without really knowing me. I came to learn that Leigh is the kind of man that will always have your back. And he has had my back from that day since. He is strong, and independent and I am glad he will be with me at our wedding.
Bridesmaid
I had a lot of best moments in college... and some of the worst.. and I shared a whole lot of them with this lady. I think God knew we needed each other during our college years and He made us roommates. I took care of Hoa and Hoa took care of me. I made her tea when she was sick and she bought me Martha Stewart wedding magazines when I felt down and bombed an exam. Yes! I have been training this girl for my wedding day since the moment we became friends. LOL! My forever roomie for life. My favorite moment with her is when we were at Albertson's struggling during allergy season sneezing and sniffling trying to find the allergy medicine for us. What old ladies! Haha. Never a dull moment with this girl! I love her to pieces! I'm so glad to have her in our wedding party!
Groomsman
Being the older brother, it was only natural that I picked on Will all the time. But I did admire him in many ways. As a kid, he was an excellent unicycler, a top ranked juggler, and he was much better BMX rider than I was. However, what I admired wasn't his talents, but his determination. None of those skills came naturally to him. But he worked and with time and effort, he became good. Will has always been hard working, driven, and a good brother. I am proud of him and am glad he will be with me at the altar.
Bridesmaid
I've known Selena since the third grade which pretty much makes her my longest running friend! I'm so thankful for our friendship throughout the years. After elementary we went to different junior high schools and reconnected again in high school! I basically followed Selena around and made her friends my friends. Since our crazy high school teenagers years I'm so glad to call Selena one of my closest friends. She has such a big heart for people and encourages me with her everyday life to live lovingly and with compassion for all people. I'm so blessed to have her in my life and glad she'll be part our special day!
Groomsman
Excluding my brother, I have known Nate longer than any of my other groomsmen. Nate has always been a great friend to both me and my family. Nate was the most mature and inteligent of my friends and always making sure we were safe and stayed out of trouble. When I moved to Seattle, Nate helped me find a new apartment. He and I became roommates, and while I was going to school his family gave me small jobs to earn some money. While living with Nate I learned how debate while at the same time staying open to new ideas. Nate is kind, and thoughtful man who has taught me a lot about life. I am glad he has agreed to be my groomsman.
Bridesmaid
I've known Kiyana since our days at USF. We were floor mates in our dorm during the first 2 years of college. She had the biggest DVD selection on the floor! I was a frequent visitor. Haha! Although we were close in college and hung out in the same group of friends it wasn't til I moved to Seattle that she became more than just a friend to me but like my sister. Kiyana and her mom took me in and let me stay with them while I looked for RN jobs when I moved to Seattle. They took me to all her family gatherings and really welcomed me as part of their family. Kiyana is a tough woman! She showed me the in and outs, the do's and don'ts and everything else to do with being a Seattlite. Without her I would be so lost! I'm so glad to have her as part of my bridal party!
