Charlotte International Airport

The closest airport is in Charlotte, NC and is about a 2h 20 min drive from the wedding venue in Roan Mountain State Park, TN. We recommend that guests please arrive the day prior to the wedding to avoid any stress from unexpected delays. Most guests are planning to fly into CLT airport and rent a car to drive up into the mountains. We recommend carpooling as a great way to save money! We realize it's a bit of a hike, but we are thankful to have you be a part of our special day. We do have a few guests who are choosing to make the drive down the coast. Please keep in mind that this is 1-2 day trip depending on how many hours you are comfortable spending in a vehicle. We recommend Carlise, PA as a comfortable half-way point to stay overnight if making this trip on land. If you stay here, check out the Market Cross Pub for dinner! Thank you for making the trip. Roan Mountain State Park Cabins

We rented five large cabins in the park. Each cabin houses 4-6 guests with one private bedroom with a queen bed and an open loft with two additional queen beds. Cabins have a kitchen, bathroom and living room and porch. As much as we would love to have everyone stay with us, we are not able to accommodate all of our guests in these cabins. Keep in mind, privacy will be limited so we recommend that if you are not familiar with many other guests, you may want to rent an off-site cottage or your own cabin! When we last checked, there are a few additional cabins in the park available for rent and there are places to stay in surrounding areas. You may search on Expedia.com or other travel websites to identify nearby cottages or cabins for rent. If you have not contacted the bride or groom and confirmed your accommodations, please do not assume you have a spot with us. We want to make sure everyone has a bed and can simply relax and enjoy the celebration!

Our wedding location is rather rural so traditional hotel lodging is limited, but there a several cabins and other homes available for rent. We are recommending that our guests arrive at least 1 day prior to planned festivities which are taking place in Roan Mountain State Park. So your search parameters should be from Friday, October, 11, 2019 - Sunday, October 13, 2019 near Roan Mountain, TN. Of course, you may arrive earlier or stay longer if you choose to do so. There is a lot to explore in the Blue Ridge Mountains if you enjoy the great outdoors.

Renting a vehicle

Many of our guests are renting a car/truck/SUV at the airport or one to drive down in. There are a few rough roads in the area if you are planning to explore a bit so keep this in mind when choosing your vehicle.
