Take the short, easy hike to top of Round Bald in Carver's Gap which is about a 10-15 min drive from Roan Mountain State Park. This is a must see if you have not yet visited! See photo above. Other nearby areas to visit include Roan High Bluff and Roan High Knob - these are right next to Carver's Gap so you could make it a trio trip! Note, parking is very limited, so carpool to this area if you are interested. 

A little further away, you can explore the Linville Gorge or drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you are making a few days out of the trip, check out the Great Smoky Mountains. Admission is free and you can drive the park from one end to the other. 

FOOD

As you likely anticipated, choices are limited in rural TN. Rest assured though, we will be providing the best of NC BBQ for the wedding day! Check out Smoky Mountain Bakers, located in Roan Mountain, TN. We recommend you pick up some breakfast foods and make use of the cabin kitchens if you are staying on site.
