First and foremost we recommend packing layers! Base layers, fleece layer and a puffy layer. The weather in the White Mountains can be unpredictable and we always err on the side of too many layers than not enough. For the hike in/out we recommend whatever feels good to move and sweat in. If you have hiking boots, we would recommend them for the trail as it is very uneven and very rocky. Protect those ankles! We also recommend going slowly to avoid any injury. For the ceremony/reception, we are calling it "Hiker Chic". We don't care what you wear, we are just glad you are going to be there. For the overnight, we recommend bringing some cozy clothes to wear to bed. We highly recommend wool socks and hat and gloves just in case the temperature takes a dip overnight.
We would recommend that you pack a lunch for Saturday and snacks for the hike out Sunday. The hut usually has bowls of soup and yesterdays baked goods for sale around $1-3 dollars cash (but not guaranteed).
The hut will provide warm water for teas and cold water for hydrating. We will have a selection of beer and wine up at the hut but encourage you to bring your favorite beer or wine up with you, just remember to pack out the empties. We kindly ask that you please leave the liquor at home. We would prefer this to remain a beer and wine only event. Thank you for understanding.
Please do your sunshine dances for us! We recommend rain gear! If it drizzles we proceed with the dock wedding, if it downpours we will move it into the hut.
