[The airport with a million different names, amirite.] We always take the direct flight from Houston to BJX (1.5 hours!). There are ample shuttle options, and the drive is a pleasant 1-1.5 hours to San Miguel. Book the shuttle when you book your flight - easy peasy! (Also, please book. March seems popular, or something. Don't pull a Mike+Katie and book the day of (although we get pretty lucky and end up being the only passengers, so meh, you do you). QRO is about an hour away from San Miguel, and is a popular route from the U.S., with plenty of direct options and connections in Dallas, Houston, and LAX. Rental cars, shuttle services and private drivers should be booked in advance. A driver will greet you at baggage claim with an extra hand to carry your load, a smile, and a cold bottle of water, and will timely pick you up from any location in San Miguel on the day of your departure. Taxi Drivers In and Around Town

Little green taxis are EVERYWHERE downtown. You will have no problem flagging one down. They are used to picking up Gringo/as, but many do not speak great English. You can simply point to where you want to go on your handheld device map app -- these guys know the city like the back of their hand. Note that taxi fares are unofficially standardized for trips around town: you should pay no more than $25 pesos ($1.25 USD!) during the day, and $30 pesos after 10:00pm. These prices may be higher in March, but never pay more than $60 pesos ($3 USD) to get around downtown. For destinations outside of the downtown area, expect to pay around $80-100 pesos ($4-5 USD). We will have shuttles departing from two locations in Centro San Miguel to take you to Rancho Las Sabinas for the wedding ceremony and reception. The shuttles will depart right at 4:00pm, so we strongly recommend arriving by 3:45pm. But if you miss the shuttle, you can easily have a taxi or Uber drive you to the venue (drivers should be familiar with "Rancho Las Sabinas"), which is located about 6 miles from the main square in San Miguel (a 10-20 minute drive depending on traffic). Pickup Location #1: El Cardo 10, Zona Centro, just in front of St Paul´s Church, behind the Rosewood Pickup Location #2: San Francisco y Juárez Streets, Zona Centro, between Iglesia de San Francisco and Café y Churrería San Agustín (near the main square, Jardin Allende) You will also receive an itinerary upon your arrival with all of these fun logistical details.

We like to call San Miguel the mecca of Airbnbs. Private homes for rent are often gorgeous, a mix of old world and modern, and have sprawling views on rooftop terraces. Many have pools and come with private chefs and cleaning services. Book well in advance (ASAP!!!) to secure one of the better options. Contact Katie or Mike for help in choosing the best location - we want you to enjoy those cobblestone-street walks each morning to the corner coffee stand for lavender cappuccinos. Please book a home in Zona Centro, near the main square and garden (Principal Jardín), where you can easily walk to all pre-wedding festivities.
