How They Met Katie and Michelle both grew up in Naperville, IL, but attended separate high schools. The couple met in dance rehearsal for a jazz number to Neil Diamond's "Crunchy Granola Suite", sparkly red dresses, tambourines, jazz squares and all! Neither of them remember much about their first meeting, as they didn't become true friends until a few years down the road. Friends First The summer before Michelle left for college at the University of Illinois the now couple took a choreography class together, which turned into regular trips to Jamba Juice- post class. They became good friends and spent all the time they could together when Michelle would return home from school; dancing, attending concerts, and baking up a storm in the Munro family’s kitchen. Partners Second After years of being friends it became clear to Katie and Michelle that they were much more than friends. The couple have lived together for 7 years in Chicago, Illinois with their two cats Tango and Foxtrot. Katie recently completed graduate school and is working as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor at a group practice. Michelle is working close to home at Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital and is working on her Master’s degree in Library Science and Information Science. The Proposal Getting married had been a discussion since the beginnings of their romance, but after living together for 7 years they finally decided it was time. Katie proposed during sunset at Oval Beach in Saugatuck, Michigan and Michelle said yes! A few months later Michelle returned the gesture with a beautiful ring and a sunset hike to a waterfall at Starved Rock State Park.
