Question

You're Getting Married on the Ferry- How Does that Work?

Answer

The plan is to have everyone take the 4:40 PM Seattle-Bainbridge Island ferry. We will all meet at the Mercer Island Park & Ride. There, we will carpool as much as possible, mark the windows of each car (with car window safe ink) that will be driving to the ferry so that we can all keep track of each other, and leave in a convoy to the ferry together. This is to: 1.) Ensure everyone gets on the correct ferry at the correct time, 2.) Make sure everyone has a ride to and from the restaurant once we get off the ferry on Bainbridge Island, 3.) Cut down on the costs of riding the ferry, as we are paying for our guests to ride and the ferry charges for both the vehicle and every person inside the vehicle. Once on the ferry, we will be exiting the vehicles and heading up to a back deck to have our ceremony against the Seattle skyline. When the ceremony is over, everyone will return to their vehicles, and, when the ferry lands on Bainbridge Island, we will drive over to the restaurant to enjoy dinner, drinks, etc. After dinner, we head back to the city via the same ferry that brought us to the island! Question

What About the Costs of Riding the Ferry?

Answer

The cost of riding the ferry depends on the type of vehicle and how many passengers are inside said vehicle. Pricing (per the WSDOT website) for each vehicle is as follows: - For a vehicle under 14 feet in size + the Driver of said vehicle: $18.20 -----> If the driver of a vehicle under 14 feet is a senior citizen or disabled adult, the cost is lower: $15.60 - For a vehicle under 22 feet in size + the Driver of said vehicle: $23.20 -----> This is a standard- sized vehicle and will be the charge that applies to most, if not all, vehicles in our party -----> If the driver of a vehicle under 22 feet is a senior citizen or disabled adult, the cost is lower: $20.60 Pricing (per the WSDOT website) for each additional passenger inside a vehicle is as follows: - For each Adult (ages 19-64): $10.25 - For each Senior (65 and over)/Disabled Adult: $5.10 - For each Youth (age 18 and under): NO CHARGE ***Passengers with disabilities qualify for a discount on any ferry route- HOWEVER, you must provide a form of ID that verifies a disability when buying a ticket. For a list of ID examples and other information for disabled passengers, check out the WSDOT site here: https://wsdot.wa.gov/travel/washington-state-ferries/rider-information/riders-disabilities#Reduced%20fare%20passenger%20tickets*** We want to make sure that the costs of riding the ferry do not burden our guests. As there is no way for us to pay the ferry costs ahead of time, we ask that you pay the ferry tolls and keep your receipts/keep track of the amount you pay so that we may reimburse you after the ferry ride via Venmo, CashApp, PayPal, Zelle, or whatever other payment method you choose.

Question

Where Are We Meeting to Carpool to the Ferry?

Answer

We will be meeting at the Mercer Island Park & Ride at 2:30 PM. This park & ride is free to park at, open 24/7, and known for being very safe- all reasons why we chose this specific one to meet at. Once everyone has arrived at the park & ride, we will make decisions about who can/is willing to drive and who is going in which car. At that point we will use a car window safe paint pen to mark the back window of every car that will be driving to the ferry so that we can all keep track of each other more easily. Then we will all drive convoy-style to the ferry terminal where we will get in line to board. For more details, please click on the "Schedule" tab and read through all the information there!

Question

We Made it to Bainbridge Island- Now What?

Answer

Now it's time for dinner! Everyone will head over to Agate Restaurant at 500 Winslow Way E for dinner, drinks, dessert, and lots of love and laughter! For more details, click on the "Schedule" tab and read through the information!

Question

What is the Parking Situation at the Restaurant?

Answer

Agate Restaurant has free parking for its guests in its designated lot, located behind the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (which is located right next to and is part of the same complex as Agate Restaurant).

Question

Dinner is Over- Now What?

Answer

Now we all get back onto the ferry and enjoy the gorgeous night skyline as we head back to Seattle! We have plans to head over to Navy Strength (a tropical tiki bar) to keep the party going for a little while once we are back in Seattle, but don't feel pressure to join us! Feel free to head back to the Mercer Island Park & Ride to get your vehicles, to head back to your hotels, to go grab food and drinks somewhere else, to sight-see, etc.! The rest of the evening is yours!

Question

Is There a Dress Code?

Answer

The restaurant that we will be at is a nice one, so we are asking that our guests dress in semi-formal or cocktail attire. That means no jeans, please and thank you!
