Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
We highly recommend spending some time at the VMFA. Here you can find amazing artwork as well as a lovely sculpture garden.
Belle Isle
A Richmond classic. Cross the suspension bridge over the James River to explore Belle Isle. Jackson took Katie here the first time he brought her to Richmond and it remains one of our favorite places. Fair warning, it will be the weekend of the Folk Festival, which is on nearby Brown's Island and may make this hard to get to.
Libby Hill Park
Beautiful park with skyline views of Richmond! Also where Jackson proposed to Katie!
Maymont
A great park with a nature center, petting zoo full of barnyard friends, and Japanese garden. The first year we were dating, we made it a tradition to go to Maymont each season of the year!
The Veil Brewing Co. - Scott’s Addition
We have shared many beers here over the years! A favorite when we lived in Scott's Addition
Väsen Brewing Company
Also a favorite brewery of ours! Another neighborhood staple and also the site of many Tuesday night bingo victories from Katie and eventually Jackson.
Sub Rosa Bakery
The best croissants we've ever had. Run, don't walk. (Good coffee, too!)
ZZQ Texas Craft Barbeque
If you need lunch, check out this amazing barbecue in the heart of Scott's Addition. Also a favorite of Guy Fieri, featured on diners, drive-ins, and dives (which we watch probably too frequently)!
Cobra Burger
If you're looking for a place to eat the best burgers and fries you've ever had while simultaneously listening to death metal music, this spot is for you! A favorite of ours, located in Church Hill!
Perly's
A classic Jewish deli serving up amazing food all around. Seriously, it's so good and would be a pefect place to grab breakfast and talk about how much fun you had at our wedding on your way out of town. Also as seen on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives if you're keeping track at home.
