**This is where Katie & Jack will be staying! Shuttle service will be provided to/from this hotel for Friday & Saturday events. We also intend to end up at this hotel bar after the wedding reception! Sunday’s farewell brunch will also be held at this location** We have a discounted room block ($179/night) reserved. Please use the link provided to get directed to the hotel's "Sullivan Kalin Wedding Block" room booking form. Rooms blocked off at this rate are held until September 12, 2024 so book ahead! We have the block from Friday Oct 4th-Sunday Oct 6th (two nights) but you may also select a one-night stay on the website. We did our best guess of required room amounts but please reach out if you have any issues booking or if by chance the discounted room block fills up so that we may attempt to get more at the discounted rate!

We have an additional backup block of rooms on hold at this hotel. **No shuttles service will be going to/from this hotel** These rooms are slightly cheaper ($139/night) if you prefer to stay here. We also have this as an overflow option if The Forester fills up. However, please reach out to us if you have any booking issues and would prefer to stay at The Forester! We can try to get more rooms! This room block rate at the Hilton will be held until September 13, 2024

Rental Car

Uber/Lyft or Rental Car

Shuttle service will get you to/from Friday & Saturday events. You may rent a car for the weekend if you wish, otherwise Uber/Lyft should get you anywhere you want to go! Note that Ubers/Lyfts are more limited in the suburbs so there may be slight wait times. Please note that there is no parking permitted at the wedding venue. If you wish to drive instead of catching a shuttle from The Forester, you will need to park at St. James Lutheran Church (1380 N. Waukegan Rd. Lake Forest, IL 60045) and await a shuttle.

Flight

Chicago O'Hare International Airport

We recommend that you fly into O'Hare. It is a 20-30 minute drive to Lake Forest. Other options are Midway Airport or Milwaukee Airport, both of which are about an hour away. Ideally you can arrive on Friday Oct 4th (to join us for a Welcome Party that evening) and stay until Sunday Oct 6th! For those who get stuck working late on that Friday (shoutout to our medical resident guests), the ceremony won't begin until 5pm on Saturday Oct 5th, so booking a Saturday morning flight is an option!

Friday Shuttle Services

October 4, 2024 5:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Shuttle service will start at 5pm on Friday from The Forester Hotel to drop guests off in downtown Lake Forest (Marker Square) if anyone would like to get dinner before heading to Duffer's Pub for the Welcome Party! See the "Things to Do" for restaurant suggestions! Pizza & sliders will be served at the Welcome Party. There is also a restaurant at the hotel: The Oaken. Shuttle service will also drop guests off directly at the Rehearsal Dinner (invite only) and Welcome Party locations, but note that everything is walking distance in town! The last shuttle will make a trip at 11:30pm. While Duffer’s Pub will be open until 1am, we recommend guests grab a shuttle back to the hotel, as Ubers are more limited in the suburbs! Guests can continue celebrating the night at The Oaken Bar at The Forester Hotel (open until 1am.)

Saturday Shuttle Services

October 5, 2024 4:15 pm - 11:00 pm

We will provide shuttles on Saturday to/from The Forester Hotel and Elawa Farm for the wedding. Shuttle service will start at 4pm to ensure a prompt 5pm ceremony start time! Please note that even if you plan to drive, you cannot park at Elawa Farm. You must park at St. James Lutheran Church (1380 N. Waukegan Rd. Lake Forest, IL 60045) and await shuttle. Shuttles will take guests back to the hotel and church parking lot at the end of the night.

Lake Forest and neighboring towns are strict against house/apartment rental services. We strongly recommend you stay at The Forester Hotel, as most of the wedding guests (including Jack & Katie!) will be there. The hotel will also be the location of shuttle service pick-up/drop-off, the after party, and Sunday brunch!

Train

Train to Chicago

If you want to visit Chicago, there is a train station right in downtown Lake Forest (Union Pacific North). The train is about 50 minutes, or an Uber/Lyft is about 30-50 depending on traffic.
