If you ask Forrest, we met surfing. (But we were never introduced that day…) If you ask me, a couple of weeks after eye balling each other on surf boards, I recognized him volunteering at a trail race that I was running in. I awkwardly introduced myself, and we met up after the run for margaritas and buffalo wings. Either way, it was on the island of Kauai where we were both living and working at the time. We spent an unforgettable year on the island together, and Forrest eventually persuaded me to move back to the mainland.

We are now living in Flagstaff, AZ where we desperately miss the ocean, but thoroughly enjoy the mountains! Our dogs love going for walks in the snow, so we took them out after a big snowfall on February 23. On our way back home, Forrest was lingering behind me, but nothing unusual, until I heard him say “Woah, look at this!” When I turned around, he was on one knee and asked me to marry him. In utter shock and excitement, I said yes as he put his grandmother’s ring on my finger :) We cannot wait to celebrate with y'all in December!
