Things To Do
Piedmont Park
We both grew up going to this park. The big field along 10th st is across from where we went to high school - Midtown (Grady) High School. We love walking along the trails and checking out the large pond in the middle of the park.
High Museum of Art
We love walking around the High during a rainy afternoon. They have a wonderful permanent collection along with exciting rotating exhibits throughout the year.
Atlanta Botanical Garden
Kitty enjoyed spending time here with her Dad when she was younger. Beautiful gardens right in the heart of the city! From the Japanese serenity gardens to the steamy green house there is variety for all. Make sure to take part in the play garden regardless of age (:
the beehive
This is an art festival in a store! They sell handmade good from local artists here in Atlanta. They also host art classes with their different makers such as candle and print making.
Alon's Bakery & Market
Kitty has been going here since elementary school! They have the best sandwiches, baked goods and ready to heat meals. Kitty's favorites include their spicy Tunisian tuna, roast beef and chicken pesto sandwiches, along with any of their bagels with the onion & chive cream cheese, olive bread loaves, cinnamon twist, egg salad, sun dried tomato and feta pasta salad, and various artesian teas and sodas. Just to name a few (: They are also well known for their cheese and wine selections.
Waffle House
You can't come to Georgia without going to Waffle House! Kitty loves their chocolate chip waffle and covered hashbrowns with some hot sauce. Owen loves
Athens Pizza
Besides Fellini's, this is our favorite pizza place by far. Everything on the menu is delicious! We recommend the mozzarella sticks, greek salad, greek potatoes, and the Mediterranean or Santorini Special pizzas. We also recommend you keep the salad dressing or the marinara dipping sauce from the mozzarella sticks as dipping sauces for the crust (: Their desserts also look amazing, but we have yet to try them.
Fellini's Pizza
One of our favorite pizza places! They have the same owners as La Fonda (: Owen has been going to Fellini's since elementary school, and Kitty has been going since middle school! You can get a slice of pizza for a good price. We recommend you try the Sicilian slice (thick crust) with your favorite toppings.
La Fonda Latina
This is by far our favorite Mexican restaurant in the city! You must try their queso dip with jalapeños. We love their quesadillas, enchiladas, sandwiches, and paella. Owen and Kitty have enjoyed coming here since elementary school (:
Honey Bubble Tea
Kitty and Owen remember when this boba tea place was built during 10th and 11th grade and has been big fans ever since! We recommend trying the Thai milk tea with boba (tapioca pearls cooked in brown sugar), Taro milk boba tea, or Pistachio milk boba tea. Their fruit teas are also yummy and Kitty also likes the popping bobas, aloe vera jelly, and coffee jelly toppings. Honey Bubble also serves coffee and slushies.
The Varsity
If you have not already, you've got to come eat at The Varsity. There is a faced paced vibe, but you can't beat being in the heart of midtown. Also, Kitty went to daycare across the street at Bright Horizons at All Saints Episcopal church. If you are a fan of orange creamsicles, you must try their signature drink called the Frosted Orange - so yummy!
Woody's CheeseSteaks
The best cheesesteaks sandwich you will have outside of Philly! Owen would come here after school a lot with his friends from robotics and Kitty would come here from time to time with friends on Fridays.
